Is Antique Snap free? Yes, to try. You can download it with no account and no sign-up, and your first identification comes with the full report. After that, full access is a subscription billed through your Apple ID, and the exact price for your country is shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm anything. This page lays out what is free, what the subscription covers, how the two plans differ, how billing works, and how to stop paying if it turns out not to be for you.

What you get for free

You can download the app and start scanning with no account and no sign-up. Your first identification returns the whole report: the name of the piece, where and when it was made, the materials, a rarity class, an estimated value range and a confidence score. It is not a teaser with the good part hidden.

We do it this way so you can test the app on an object you actually care about before spending anything. Pick the piece you would otherwise lose an evening researching, not the easiest one on the shelf. What the subscription includes

A subscription covers every identification after your first, and the features built around them:

• Live market comparables. Similar pieces currently listed on Etsy, eBay and at auction houses, with their asking prices, so you can see where the estimate comes from and check it yourself.
• My Collection. Every scan saved and sorted by category, with a running total in your choice of 21 currencies.
• Antique Basics. A built-in library covering periods, styles, makers' marks and how to spot reproductions.
• All 18 categories. Furniture, jewelry, ceramics, art, silver, glass, textiles, coins, watches, books, toys, cameras, militaria, clocks, instruments, stamps, prints, and a catch-all for everything else.

Both plans unlock exactly the same features. The only difference is how long you keep it and what you pay.

Weekly or yearly: which one to pick

There are two plans, and the App Store shows the price of each in your own currency on the subscription screen, before you choose. The honest way to decide is by how you will use the app, not by the number.

• Weekly is for one job in front of you: an estate to clear, a house move, a box of inherited china, a haul from a sale. Subscribe, work through the pile, cancel when you are done. That is what the plan is for and there is no catch in using it that way.
• Yearly is for people who keep finding things: collectors, dealers, flea market regulars. Per month it is a great deal cheaper than keeping the weekly plan running, which is the point of it.

If you are not sure, take the weekly plan first. You can switch to yearly from the same Subscriptions screen at any time.

How billing works

• You are only charged when you choose a plan and confirm it with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password. Opening the app, scanning, or looking at the plan screen does not charge you anything.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period you already paid for runs out.
• Everything is billed by Apple, not by us. The charge shows on your Apple ID statement, and refunds go through Apple as well.
• The price is always shown in your own currency, in the app and on the App Store, before you confirm. There is no separate price list anywhere else, including here.

Refunds

We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Apple processes them for every app on the App Store, and the request takes about a minute: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase, find the Antique Snap charge and choose Request a refund. Apple usually replies within a day or two.

If a renewal went through that you did not want, cancel the subscription first so it does not happen again, then request the refund for that charge. Both steps are on the cancellation page.

What you are paying for

It is fair to ask why an app that looks simple has a subscription at all. Each identification runs an AI vision analysis on your photo and then pulls live listings from several marketplaces to build the value range. Both of those cost money every time they run, which is why there is no one-off purchase and why we do not run ads instead.
